The mother birds and daddy birds have raised their young eggs to young birdlings.
ReeRee and I found this bird on the ground next to the tree after a big storm. Lucky for him, the cats didn’t find him first.
We put the baby bird back onto a branch. And we petted him. Then Newt and ReeRee petted him, then I said we would pet him tomorrow.
Poor bird. He was sick of the attention.
The barn swallows have also “flown the nest”. These delicate birds are my favorites. Not only do they eat flies and mosquitoes, but they have a nice color palette. Dark navy blue wings, warm orange brown chests, and an interesting squeal/squack/chirp. The barn swallow parents LOVE dive bombing the cats.
