It’s official. Newt started calving. I am again a “calving widow”, single mom for the season. Or calving “window” in this post. Darn spell check didn’t catch that one!
Newt went to pick up heifers from cornstalks, but this heifer couldn’t wait. Tom called to say they picked up the baby calf and brought him to the corrals to load out.
Just four days in, and we have four calves, all AI sired.
These little calves sure are cute! But watch where you step!
(Weird, but true fact. Cows usually eat their “cleanings”. Full of protein and calories, but still not something I would try. Eeckk!)
