After the Fire Pictures

 
The range fire that burned near Mom and Dad’s did signficant damage to the neighbor’s pasture.  The standing residue (grass standing tall) and litter (grass laying on the ground) was burned to a crisp.
 
Here is the pasture across the road.  Not burned.

Look at all that residue and litter!  Grass to eat and places for wildlife to call home.

 Recovery back to “normal” will be slow with the severe drought.  Months, years, decades?  Feed lost for cattle, homes lost for wildlife.

Ouch.  Nothing remains to keep the sand from blowing. The grass is gone.
